![]() While the ability is one cooldown, you cannot apply stacks to enemies. Though I must say, not only was the damage of this ability extremely underwhelming, it has a fatal flaw, which I'm sure is even on purpose, which is a damn shame. I like the idea of a debuff (it doesn't actually debuff them its more of just a stacking status) that you can apply to enemies, stacking it higher and higher to press an ability that then triggers all the stacks at once for mass damage. I'm gonna assume you, reading this, knows how it works for the purposes of this. I'm gonna be totally honest, this ability was pretty terrible, even once I figured out how to use it. Now for the Essence of Heresy, the ability that replaces your R. Which I should say btw, I should mention with all these abilities, I really feel like their damage should increase, even if only slightly, say 5% or something per stack for that specific ability, because this characters damage, though my build wasn't super optimized, as at the time I was going for a more passive lightning based build (though getting very unlucky, EVEN with command, we couldn't find an equipment barrel for me until like the 6th stage, I believe. When I saw the hooks (I've only seen them on The Heretic so far, since it was the last item I picked up to turn into her), I thought I would get a really neat cleaving melee attack similar to Acrid's, but it was this ability and honestly I'm kinda disappointed/sad she cant slash with these giant scythe arms, though I guess the new right click is cool enough. Moving on, the new right click granted by the Hooks of Heresy is alright, I find charging it up a little strange, but I got used to it eventually. When you turn into The Heretic, your HP pool increases dramatically, I assume to help mitigate the constant health drain you will have. Though I didn't ever really get to low health more than one time as The Heretic. This, wasn't much of a problem, since I could use my shift ability whenever I felt low on health with basically downside other than its cooldown. ![]() ![]() While you're intangible (3 seconds per stack) you also heal a bit, which is nice! While you are the heretic, your health constantly drains down, at least it did for me. However, you can't cancel your newfound shift ability once you go into it, which in most situations is fine, and I can see that potentially being even more damning, for players that accidentally press it too many times in the panic of combat and end up killing themselves when they would've been fine otherwise. This is somewhat negated by having the Strides of Heresy, so you go intangible while your eye laser bolts "reload". However, it increases the cooldown by 2 seconds per stack, which is nice, but I really wish this were only 1 second per stack, just standing there not really doing anything while enemies shoot at you isn't the best. Notably the Visions of Heresy, since it gives you more ammo. Below, I've written what I think of the abilities, since I would almost never pick them up before, once I learned that they'd ruin my characters ability and my current build, even if the new ability isn't all that bad. Also I'd like anyone reading this to post what they think about this character and her abilities and cool ideas etc., that anyone may have. If you stack the lunar items then its a different story, and the abilities seem to be much better. Once you get all the HERESY lunar items, you transform into a new survivor "The Heretic"They're super neat! Having all of the abilities at once works.
